Kathleen Lane, AIA, CAE, LEED AP serves as Managing Director of Climate Action & Design Excellence at The American Institute of Architects to advance AIA’s strategic priority for climate action through knowledge and practice resources and tools to transform the profession to achieve a zero-carbon, equitable, resilient, and healthy built environment.

Previously, Kathleen was Executive Director of AIA Baltimore, the Baltimore Chapter of AIA. Prior to that, she served as Director of Knowledge Communities for ten areas of specialized practice at AIA.  Kathleen is a licensed architect, and has experience in architectural practice and as an educator in Washington, DC.  She holds an M.Arch from The Catholic University of America, and an M.A. from the University of Maryland, as well as a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
